If you read my cupcake post here, then you will know I don't have a lot of skill in the baking department and by that I mean its non existing but I am determined on improving. Which is slightly ironic as I was the only one in my family who didn't watch the bake off. However despite my non existing baking skills, I am always very lucky with my biscuits. Which usually results in a batch be devoured very quickly indeed. In my opinion the best way to enjoy them is with a hot chocolate and a good book/film.
Ingredients:
250g of Butter
110g Caster Sugar, plus a little extra to sprinkle on top
360g Plain Flour
1/2 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1 tbsp of Milk
Method:
- Heat the oven to Gas 5
- Beat the butter and the sugar together until smooth.
- Add the Milk and the Vanilla Extract.
- Stir in the flour until a dough forms, add more flour if necessary .
- Roll out until the paste is 1cm thick or however thick you would like your biscuits to be
- Cut into any shape that takes your fancy and place onto a baking tray. Sprinkle with caster sugar and chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.
- Once chilled bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until pale golden-brown.
- Set aside to cool on a wire rack.
- Makes a fair few, but they are delicious and will be devoured.
Whenever I try and make biscuits or cookies they just NEVER come out well! Yours look so good though, tempted to give it a go!
