To say the month August has been up and down more times than a yo-yo would be an understatement . August has been a tough month, truthfully a month filled with moments I would be all too happy to forget, however it has also been filled with moments I'd like to remember for a long time to come.

1. My dear loyal and furry friend Charlie passed away very suddenly at the beginning of the month, despite being only 5 years old. I do not wish to dwell on the specifics only the facts and by facts I mean the positive ones. Charlie had a marvellous life, five years of stuffing himself with food, running around the garden like a lunatic and sleeping on comfy beds, sofas and many a soft blanket. He had any amazing life and knowing that I helped give him that eases the pain a little.

2. I was asked to stay full time at my summer job, which after a great deal of thinking I politely declined.

3. The University I will be attending in September emailed me saying they wished to retract my conditional offer and offer me an unconditional offer. Which, well put plainly... woohooooo!!!

4. I've been using more organic/cruelty free beauty products and in turn have cleared out all of the ones I found out still tested on animals, and I feel a little better when I apply my makeup in the morning.

5.  I've been enjoying early mornings on the weekends which to my joy have begun to get a little colder. Autumn is on the horizon and I am more than happy to welcome it with open arms.

6. On my lunch break I have been exploring charity shops looking for 78 rpm records for my Gramophone and buying many an old beautiful book.

7. My laptop screen decided this month would be perfect timing to break, so for now I'm stuck with my rather old and very slow laptop.

8. Despite the heartache of Charlie's passing, I decided to take a leaf out of his book and not give a flying fish what others may think of me and  start doing more for myself and taking time out to pamper myself. Which is adding an extra slice of positivity to my life and truthfully I feel better for it.

  1. I'm sorry to hear about your passing away. Stay strong and everything would work out. Just remember to smile
